Administration

Jo worked for the Civil Service as a Duty Clerk at 10 Downing Street - while John Major was PM - before leaving to have children. She then retrained as an Early Years Practioner.

In 2000, when her son was 3, his dad took him to watch rugby at Chobham and he joined Minis. After her daughter joined 2 years later Jo started volunteering as Medic for the team, which she continued to do for the next 10 years.

When her daughter joined the U14’s Jo took over as Manager for girls, building the girls team at Chobham. She then became Women & Girls Chair for 6 years. During this time she joined the Women and Girls Committee at Surrey Rugby, taking over as U15’s and U18’s Manager - which she’s now done for 9 seasons.

In 2016 she saw the ad for the job as Administrator, left her role in Early Years and became an official member of the team. She’s remained as Surrey Rugby reduced costs by moving to their current location and reducing staffing. Jo is now the only paid staff member of Surrey Rugby with responsiblity for all the varied admin that entails, including purchasing Surrey kit and managing the GMS database whilst continuing her role with Women & Girls for Surrey.
