Jo Fisher

Jo worked for the Civil Service as a Duty Clerk at 10 Downing Street - while John Major was PM - before leaving to have children. She then retrained as an Early Years Practioner.

After many years watching Harlequins every weekend, home and away, Jo became involved in grassroots rugby in 2000, when her son joined the Minis at Chobham RFC. Jo volunteered as a First Aider for both his minis team and then her daughters two years later.

When her daughter moved into Juniors, Jo was instrumental in creating and building a girl's team at Chobham, then became Chobham's Chair of Womens & Girls Rugby for six years. During this time she joined the Surrey W&Gs Committee also taking over as U15 and U18 Girls Manager for the Surrey Squads, a role she held for 10 seasons! Jo loves seeing ex-Surrey girls move into senior rugby, playing for clubs, universities and international teams.

Jo joined Surrey Rugby in a paid capacity as the County Administrator in 2016, remaining as Surrey Rugby reduced costs by moving to their current location and reducing staffing. Whilst working for Surrey Jo remained in her volunteer roles, managing the county teams and as W&Gs lead for Surrey, including organising the Surrey girls age group competitions.

Jo retired from the office and stepped down from her other roles earlier in 2025 and is very much looking forward to visiting Surrey Clubs in her role as President and particularly supporting the growth of W&Gs Rugby in this Rugby World Cup Season.
