Terry has been involved with the County for quite some time. He became a Vice President in 2010 and is our Immediate Past President. He offered his services to London Irish Amateur RFC in 2000 following an appeal for volunteers who could offer “2 hours of their time per week to the Club”. Over the following 20 years Terry held various roles including Website Editor, Honorary Secretary, became a Vice President in 2006 and Club President in 2018-2020. Terry played rugby in Cork, Athlone and Bristol. When he moved to London in 1978 he was advised, post-surgery, by a consultant at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore to call it a day. As a consequence, his intention to play Vets Rugby with London Irish never materialised. He still enjoys watching amateur and professional rugby and is a season ticket holder at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford.
Terry’s background was in the Food, Tourism and Financial Services sectors. Of the three, he enjoyed his 14 years in Tourism the most. As Overseas Markets Officer for the Irish Tourist Board, he spent a lot of time, particularly in Australia and New Zealand and had a two-year stint in New York.
