Geraint joined the Surrey Rugby committee in 2022 as the Chair of Club Development, which covers just about everything outside of the playing of the game itself. Although this is Geraint’s first rugby union committee appointment he has considerable experience in a variety of roles including as a serving magistrate, a charity trustee, a theatre board member and a former Borough councillor.
In addition, Geraint is a former Non-Executive Director of England Touch, the national governing body for touch rugby.
Geraint has played rugby for 50 years, since first picking up the sport as a schoolboy in Cardiff, and has played with teams such as Murrayfield Wanderers, Budapest Exiles and the Hungarian national team. He has played in London and Surrey leagues for 38 years, being a regular over that period for Guy’s Hospital, Old Cranleighans and, for the last 15 years or so, Esher. Geraint has represented Surrey Vets on several occasions and has built lasting memories across over 60 rugby tours.
