The London Stags is an inclusive rugby club, affiliated with the IGR (International Gay Rugby) and Surrey Rugby. With over 110 members our need for experienced coaches has increased. We provide a friendly and relaxed environment for London's LGBTQ+ community and are inclusive of all. Despite the pandemic negatively impacting grassroots sports, our membership and participation in training has rocketed, causing us to alter the structure of our training. We are currently seeking
HEAD COACH
You will be supported by the current assistant head coach and club captain. You will have a level 2 or above rugby coaching certificate and rugby coaching CPD. You will have experience of leading a coaching team and have an understanding of LGBTQ+ sporting issues. You will identify barriers to rugby and provide solutions to allow rugby to be inclusive.
COACH
You will be an integral part of the coaching team delivering exciting and varied session to maintain skills and enthusiasm. Have a variety of interests and skills including development of new to rugby players, and touch rugby. You will have a recognised rugby coaching certificate. You will be approachable, friendly and patient.
We train on Wednesday evening (7's) Saturday morning (development and touch rugby) and Saturday afternoon (competitive level), and as part of the IGR South Eastern League have match days on Saturdays (7 games per season). We welcome new players throughout the season and have a newly evolving touch team. We also play friendly matches locally and nationally and take part in national IGR competitions (7s, 10s, touch) and in 2022taking part in the worldwide competition for IGR clubs, The Bingham Cup, held in Canada..
Training is held at Poulter Park, Morden.
This will be a voluntary role and expenses for travel will be reimbursed with valid receipt.
